This thermostat housing is an aftermarket replacement for MerCruiser 305 and 350 V8 engines (5.0L and 5.7L), compatible with designs referenced as 90736A18 and MC-29-87290. The housing holds the thermostat on the engine and directs cooling water through the system. In marine use these housings corrode, and they are replaced when they leak, crack or the passages clog.
