This high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), marked 7613933-01, is listed for BMW N54 and N55 engines in the 135i, 335i, 535i and 640i. Driven by the camshaft, it raises the pressure of fuel from the tank pump to the level the direct injectors need. A failing HPFP causes long cranking, limp mode, low rail pressure codes and hesitation under boost.
