The Haldex 40910990 is a slack adjuster for air brake systems. Mounted on the S-cam shaft, it converts the stroke of the brake chamber pushrod into the turning force that applies the shoes, and it sets the clearance between shoes and drum. A worn or failed adjuster leads to long pushrod stroke, brakes out of adjustment and failed inspections.
